Happy Wednesday Everyone! As you know, we’re back on the scene here in Central Florida, and I have to say, I’ve missed it. Being on the go is what I’m used to, and on the go is exactly how I’ve been since we’ve talked last week! Lets get to it, shall we?
We were on vacation back home in Michigan for two weeks. I’m sure you can relate, when you’re away from your house for that long of a period of time, you get a little out of sorts, and there’s a lot to catch up on. Laundry, cleaning, putting things away….. the fun stuff. Once that part was over, I was itching to get back to work. Summer is flying by, and I knew that we needed to get back into the parks to get pics, video and blog ideas for the site. Epcot was first on the to do list. The reason Epcot was our first choice was because we had made a FastPass for Frozen Ever After back in June, and we didn’t want to miss out. It’s better than waiting in line for an hour! I have to say, I liked the ride even better the second time. It really is a cute attraction. We walked around, got some pics, and I did a live feed on Illuminations on Facebook. Yes, it was good to be back.
Hollywood Studios is also a place we visited twice since last week. Yes, twice. We got to ride the Tower of Terror on it’s 22nd birthday, but then again, we always go on, birthday or not. The parks have been crowded, so we’ve had to pick and choose what we do. We went back for a second time because we wanted to get more footage of the new show, Star Wars; A Galactic Spectacular. Disney really did a great job with that production, it’s really good.
The park I was most looking forward to getting back to was of course the Magic Kingdom. It’s my favorite, always has been. Saturday we headed out to do a live FB feed of the Festival of Fantasy Parade, and my gosh was it HOT outside. After the parade, I got stopped by a Main Streeter to chat, but immediately after I wasn’t feeling so great. The heat had gotten to me just in that short period of time and it took me about an hour to feel better. It’s been so warm and humid here, well across parts of the country too. Just be careful out there. I thought I had enough water but apparently that wasn’t the case. Scary stuff. So needless to say, we didn’t stay till closing, but I was so glad to see the Castle again. I missed it.
Back in February or March, I finally gave in and started a Snapchat account for TMSM. I have to say, I’m having a lot of fun doing Disney snaps and getting feedback from our followers. I wish the snaps didn’t disappear the next day, but still. We’re also enjoying Instagram, the followers go up daily there too. It’s all about sharing the magic, and I love it. It’s a blessing that we’re able to bring others a little happiness everyday, people who are missing Disney and need an extra pinch of pixie dust. Last night we went back to the Magic Kingdom to get video of Celebrate the Magic for our YouTube channel, and it was a crowded mess! We had to reach way over our heads to get live feed of the Main Street Electrical Parade, there was just a sea of people. I know it’s summertime and that’s to be expected, but we made the best of it. I’ll link the video below so you can see the footage, it came out great!
I found out this week that the school schedule changed, and the boys go back much earlier than originally planned. Two weeks from today, school starts, and I’m sad about it. In Michigan the summer break was much longer, they didn’t return to school until after Labor Day. Some parents love back to school time, but truthfully, I hate it. I wish I could keep them home with me longer, but I know that’s not the case. The plan is to make the most of the next two weeks while we can. It’s month end, and magazine crunch time, so work has to be done before we can play. It’s part of the job, but I’m hoping to get that done so I can give the boys a nice end to their summer vacation. That being said, I’d better get back to magazine work! I know I mentioned doing video blogs on Wednesdays, but things have been hectic so that obviously didn’t happen for this week. We have a lot in the works to stay tuned. Thank you as always for reading! Until next week… sending you blessings, hugs and pixie dust! See ya real soon! ~M
