Are you looking for the perfect playlist for your upcoming road trip? Do you love Disney? Are you maybe headed to Disney for your perfect summer vacation? Do you just like to drive around and listen to the music of your childhood? Then look no further! Here I have compiled a Disney playlist from all different years and types of Disney films. This list is in chronological order, but you can listen to it in any order you want. Everyone will enjoy this family-friendly playlist and I hope that it is the perfect playlist for you and your family on your next road trip.
1. Zip A Dee Doo Dah
Let’s get this trip started right with the perfect Disney classic! This is the song that accompanies you as you leave the ride Splash Mountain.
2. You Can Fly! You Can Fly! You Can Fly!
This song can be found in the classic movie, Peter Pan, which was released in 1953. Did you know that Walt Disney actually performed the part of Peter Pan in a school play?
3. Let’s Get Together
This song is from The Parent Trap – and no, not the Lindsay Lohan version. This is from the original starring Hayley Mills.
4. Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
Wow, that’s a mouthful…and hard to spell! Julie Andrews must be a goddess if she can say it backwards (which she can)!
5. Bare Necessities
With the new live-action Jungle Book out in theaters, let’s throw it back to the original 1967 version! Did you know the voice of Baloo (Phil Harris) was also the voice of Thomas O’Malley in The Aristocats and Little John in Robin Hood?
6. Under the Sea
We’re gonna flash forward quite a few years and have a visit with our friends from The Little Mermaid, which released in 1989.
7. Be Our Guest
Beauty and the Beast released in 1991 and is still a much beloved classic. If you visit Disney World, visit the Be Our Guest Restaurant, eat some of the grey stuff (it’s delicious), and the Tavern, which includes a fountain that features our favorite villain, Gaston.
8. Friend Like Me
Though the wonderful and much missed Robin Williams, is not with us anymore, his voice and comedic spirit live on through iconic and hilarious characters like Genie.
9. Hakuna Matata
It means no worries! The Lion King, which released in 1994 is revered as one of the greatest Disney movies of all time – and most people my age will attest to that.
10. Zero to Hero
In this 2 minute and 20 second length song, our favorite underdog – Hercules – becomes a hero. He even has an action figure. Fun fact: this movie only features five muses, when in Greek mythology, there are actually nine.
11. Life Is a Highway
We’re going to skip ahead a few years once again to the perfect road trip song. This song is used in the movie Cars, which released in 2006, and is performed by the country band Rascal Flatts.
12. Love is an Open Door
Have someone in the car that loves to duet with you? Then this is the perfect song for you – even though the prince turns out to be a huge backstabbing jerk, but we’ll ignore that part.
