We have had readers ask about extra security measures across the Walt Disney World Resort, in the wake of the tragedy at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando. As we said yesterday, security is tighter at the four Disney Parks, but we still had people worried about Disney Springs, since that specifically has been talked about in the news.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, more security cameras are being added to Disney Springs. Here’s what they had to say~
An Orlando company called Stanley Convergent Security Solutions on Tuesday filed a dozen notices of commencement for construction work at Disney. The company’s website indicate it specializes in “comprehensive security systems including intrusion detection, access control, video surveillance, fire detection, and 24/7 monitoring.”
The notices of commencement indicate projects at various public areas and stores throughout Disney Springs, the outdoor shopping, dining and entertainment complex at Walt Disney World.
The filings don’t indicate what the projects are, but when asked about them, a Disney spokeswoman said they are for additional security cameras that had been planned for a while.
We are glad to hear that Disney is doing even more to keep guests safe. Please stayed tuned to TMSM for further updates as we hear.
