For those who frequent Disney’s water parks, we get used to certain things, even if it’s just something small. For us, and the kids, one thing that they used to like, was when we’d turn in the the locker key from the rental, we’d get the option to either get $5.00 back from the deposit, or receive a Disney gift like a bag or mug. We never took the money, we always got the souvenir, it was a great deal and a good memory of our day. Well, that’s not how it’s done anymore at Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.
(Forgive me if you already know of the changes, but I know a lot don’t know of the latest!) So before, you’d pay $10 for a small locker, $15 for the large, but you’d get $5.00 back or the souvenir when you turned in the key. Disney has switched over to a digital system with kiosks, and you get a printed receipt instead of key. Guests pay for the locker at the kiosk and choose a pin number to open the locker now. The prices are still the same…. however, guests no longer get money back or the souvenir. I’ve seen a lot of guests disappointed with the change, ourselves included, so I thought I’d let people know ahead of time before the busy water park season begins. Sure, $5.00 isn’t much, neither is a tote bag or mug, but it’s good to know before you go! So many changes at Disney, it’s hard to keep up! Stay tuned to TMSM for more updates!

Hi, I found your post when searching for information on the new lockers at the waterparks. Do they only take credit card or cash for payment? Can you not charge it to your room with a MagicBand?
Also the lockers were more than $10 previously, something like $13 with $5 refundable, so the lockers have only gone up $2.

I honestly wasn’t sure of the answer so I found this information on the Disney website:
Each of our water parks features keyless lockers that can be used throughout the day for a one-time charge. To rent a locker, visit one of the electronic kiosks in the locker areas and choose the size you want. After payment, you can select a 4-digit pin number that will open your assigned locker.
The kiosks accept U.S. currency and major credit cards. All lockers are subject to availability on a first-come, first-served basis.
As you can read there is no mention of using a MagicBand to pay so I’m unsure if that is offered. The regular lockers are $10 for the day and the larger ones are $15. They did go up and now you don’t get a refund at all. I know last year, when you returned the key you had a choice of your $5 or a backpack from the park.
