I know this may be hard to believe but I did not visit Disney World until I was thirty years old. It can’t believe it has only been three years. I can still remember the anticipation and excitement that I experienced in the weeks and days leading up to my very first visit. Every day was torture waiting for that last sleep and wake up before we headed to Orlando. I would catch myself counting down the days like a kid ready for Christmas day or Summer break. I was admittedly more excited than my 4 and 5 year little girls at this point.
FINALLY!!! They day had arrived! We were finally headed to Orlando! I don’t remember much of the trip to the night before. I know we checked in that evening and I think I slept a minute or two, but I had butterflies. The anticipation was almost more than i could bare. After waiting for what seemed like an eternity for everyone to get ready we finally loaded up and headed to…. Disney World!!!
I will NEVER forget the feeling I had when we drove up the parking lot entrance. I felt like I had won the lottery, lost 40 pounds, and just got a puppy, and we had not even made it to the park yet. I am really surprised I did not squeal like little girl the first time I walked down Main Street at Magic Kingdom.
Fast forward to present day- We have been pass holders for two years and we are getting ready to renew for our third. We have been more times than I can remember and have had some really amazing experiences. But one thing that never changes is the excitement and anticipation of going “Home”
