The rumors were swirling, but now we know! Get ready for more “Indiana Jones.”

Disney announced its plans to release the fifth “Indiana Jones” movie starring Harrison Ford on July 19, 2019, and fans will be thrilled that Steven Spielberg will return as the film’s director.

“Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019,” Disney chairman Alan Horn said in a statement. “It’s rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.”

A new “Indiana Jones” film has long been rumored, occasionally with different actors taking over the role from the 73-year-old Ford. But the actor will return as his famous archaeologist shortly after reprising his other indelible character: Han Solo in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

The first “Indiana Jones” film, “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” was released in 1981 and is considered one of the the American Film Institute’s 100 Greatest American Films of All Time. “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” came out in 1984 and “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” followed in 1989.

Fans then had to wait until 2008 to watch Ford reprise his role in the poorly received “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.” The four films grossed nearly $2 billion at the global box office combined.
