Toy-ing with Emotions

One thing I have come to realize is that my girls have a very LARGE collection of Disney toys.  It seems that every time we visit any store that has Disney merchandise (Especially Stuffed Animals) we come home with at least one.  Stitch, Marie, Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Sophia, Clover, Maximus, Jedi Stitch, Angel, Tsum Tsum’s, Dolls, Pillow Pets, and the list goes on and on and on and on!  Every time I threaten to throw all of the stuff on the girls floor away I start getting caught up in the memories and emotions connected with each item I pick up.

I find it amusing how we attach certain feeling to a silly little object to the point that we cannot get rid of it.  They become tangible memories that we can hold in our hands and near our hearts.  Whether it is babies first pooh bear, their favorite Belle doll, or the first Mickey plush that our significant other gave on a date night, there is a special connection with our favorite Disney toys.

Another large part of this is the way it helps a re-experience the feelings we have had while at Disney.  I know that every time I see my daughters Jedi Stitch I am taken back to my very first Star Wars Weekends back in 2014.  I can vividly remember meeting Boba Fett, and watching Symphony in the Stars.  Disney is awesome at making you feel many different emotions when it comes to their products and parks.

I will never cease to be amazed at how deeply ingrained Disney is in our society and homes.  It is a true testament to the genius that was Walter Elias Disney.
