Yesterday, Marvel released The Haunted Mansion #1 comic in associated with Disney Kingdoms. Previous releases included Figment #1 and #2,as well as the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad series.
As you can tell by the cover, it’s the New Orleans Square – Disneyland version of the Haunted Mansion. I first heard about this a few month back from my contact at Marvel. I was excited, as the Haunted Mansion is one of my all time favorite Disney attractions, and I didn’t have any idea of how the story would go.
I was fortunate enough to get an advanced copy to read and I really enjoyed it. There are many references throughout to certain characters of the mansion and also some of the speeches that you will recognize from the attraction. The story does start to explain some of the most known characters of the mansion and I’m sure going forward that will continue. There are also a few different variant covers available, so be sure to check them all out.
I don’t want to give any spoilers, but I will say, if you are a fan of the attraction you will enjoy the comic. It’s also awesome, to see how the artists brought the attraction to life on the pages. This is number 1 of 5 in the series. You can go to your local comic shop and pick up a copy today. I would assume, like with other comics Disney has done, they will have it available in the parks.
If you do purchase the comic, please come back and tell us what you thought about The Haunted Mansion #1 in the comments below.
