Happy Wednesday Main Streeters! You know how I’ve been saying that I haven’t had much time for Disney lately and I needed to make up for lost time? Well, in the past week I sure have gotten my Disney fix! Lets catch up!
We have been so busy for quite some time, and fun time has had to be put off. So this past weekend, I decided we needed to get some Disney time in. After all, we pay for annual passes, we should be using them, right? Can’t let them go to waste! So Friday night after school, we decided to get out a little bit and go to Epcot to look around. The Flower and Garden Festival is getting ready to start, so some of the flowers and topiaries are already going in. It was nice to just get out of the house and get some fresh air. Plus, seeing the early preparations for the festival was fun too. I’m looking forward to it starting next week.
Saturday, we went to the Magic Kingdom for a make up birthday outing for me. Before heading to the park, we went to Ohana at the Poly for a late breakfast. We never do character dining now that we live here, it’s too expensive. This was part of my birthday present so it was allowed! We waited an hour past our reservation time, which was kind of a bummer. Then, it took awhile to get our food and see all the characters. When you’re vacationing or on the dining plan, it’s different. When you are spending a ton of money for a character breakfast, it kind of stings a little more if you don’t have a great experience, if that makes sense. Ohana was fun for the kids, but I don’t think I would do breakfast there again, I’d try dinner. 1900 Park Fare was a lot better, and you get a larger variety for your money. It’s good to try new things though, and I appreciated being able to go! After we ate, we took the boat over to the Magic Kingdom, the weather was beautiful.
We hadn’t had a family day at the Magic Kingdom in quite awhile, so I was really looking forward to it. The first thing we did when we got there, was head in to meet talking Mickey. My husband wanted me to get a real “Happy Birthday” from the big Cheese himself, so that’s what we did. There’s something about hearing Mickey Mouse actually talk to you, it makes you feel like a kid again. I was so excited. My older kiddo was like, “Mom, are you going to cry?” Well, maybe a little! (video posted below of Mickey) After that, it was almost time for the Festival of Fantasy Parade, which I adore. We don’t normally spend the full day at the park, but it was a special occasion so we did. The park was busy on Saturday, but we made the best of it. I got to go on my favorite ride, the Haunted Mansion, have my favorite cookie back in Storybook Circus, and we went over to the Contempo Cafe to eat dinner. Afterwards, we went back to the MK for Wishes to end out our day. The day was a lot of fun, and was much needed!
Sunday we were pretty tired from being at the Magic Kingdom the day before, but the weather was mild again so I suggested we go to Earl of Sandwich at Disney Springs for lunch. I love that place, plus it’s another nice walk outside. I’ve fallen off the diet wagon so bad since before Christmas, and I intended to get back on track on Monday, so why not have the Holiday Turkey sandwich as a last meal? Sounded good to me! The week started and it was back to work. Yesterday I took some pictures of the topiaries at Epcot for the March issue of the magazine. It’s crunch time once again and I wanted to get fresh pictures from the upcoming festival. Back to being busy of course! The March issue will be full of great photos though, so watch for that on March 1st!
So that’s it for this week…… Disney, Disney and more Disney! That’s how I like it! Sure, it can’t happen all the time, but it’s nice and appreciated when we’re able. Till next week, as always, sending you lots of blessings, hugs and pixie dust! Thanks for reading! See ya real soon! ~M
