Happy Wednesday Main Streeters! It’s time for our weekly Florida Living update! This week, we’re winding down and getting ready for Thanksgiving weekend. It’s been busy here since we last spoke…. lots to do to get the magazine ready for it’s December issue. Doing TMSMonthly not only includes Disney trips for pics and such, it also includes other places around town, so we headed to Universal Studios last weekend to get Christmas photos!
Universal Studios Florida, like Disney World, decorates for Christmas. Granted, they don’t do it on as big of a scale, but it’s still pretty to see. They have a lot of Minion themed Christmas merchandise which the kids loved, plus a huge Christmas Tree on the Studios side. The Islands of Adventure side has most of their Christmas flair in Suess Landing, being that The Grinch is a big draw over there. It’s fun to see the differences on how the various attractions get ready for the Holidays down here, it’s all new to us!
In addition to checking out Christmas fun in the area, we also went to do the Monorail loop to see the new decorations at the resorts near the Magic Kingdom. The gingerbread displays are up at the Contemporary Resort and the Grand Floridian. They are amazing to see! We also went over to the Wilderness Lodge, which was also beautifully decorated for Christmas. Their tree is huge! Although I love the Halloween decorations at Disney, Christmas is just a bit more magical. No one decorates like Disney, that’s for sure!
Thanksgiving is tomorrow and we have a lot to be thankful for this year. First, we have amazing family and friends that are a total blessing to us. I really hate being away from the people I love most on holidays, but this year we’re going to a friends house so it won’t feel as lonely. I’m really looking forward to going home for Christmas, I’d never miss that! Second, we are thankful for each and every one of YOU who support our efforts at TMSM and TMSMonthly. When we started up TMSM almost 6 years ago, I never dreamed that our family would grow so big. Yes, our readers are extended family to us, and we can’t thank you enough for being part of our Disney Ohana. Third, thank you to our amazing support staff for never giving up on our Disney dreams and for helping us the way you do! We are blessed for sure!
From our family to yours…. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! Have a safe, magical, and blessed holiday weekend! Until next week… See Ya Real Soon! ~M
