We recently reported that Tortuga Tavern at the Magic Kingdom had gone over a complete menu change. The Tavern is now serving BBQ food, and we finally had the opportunity to head over and check out the new items.
The menu at Tortuga Tavern is still small, but everything is revamped! On our visit, we had the BBQ chicken sandwich and the BBQ brisket sandwich. Both were very good! The Texas toast is thick, and makes for a pretty decent sized sandwich. Sandwich choices are beef, chicken or pulled pork with beans and coleslaw on the side. The side dishes were very good as well, it was a nice change from fries! You can also choose to have the same meats put on a salad with corn relish and cheese.
All in all, the new Tortuga Tavern was pretty good. We had been looking for a chance of pace where food is concerned at the Magic Kingdom, and Tortuga Tavern supplied that change for us. So, if you get a chance, and you’re hungry for a yummy lunch at the Magic Kingdom…. give Tortuga Tavern a try! You’ll be glad that you did, enjoy!
