My Favorite Disney Halloween Films by Guest Blogger Arielle Boardman
A Disney Halloween is the best Halloween because a Disney Halloween don’t stop. And it’s not gory and it doesn’t scare the pants off of you and make you have nightmares til Thanksgiving. I’m not one to be the first to line up to see the new Chainsaw Massacre movie, but I do enjoy a fun Disney movie marathon! Here are a few movies that I enjoy watching on one of my favorite holidays!
Um..because it’s only the BEST HALLOWEEN MOVIE OF ALL TIME IN THE HISTORY OF EVER!! In my opinion. Bette Midler? Genius. Memorable quotes? They run AMOK! AMOK AMOK AMOK! And if you don’t like this movie…you can collect your candy and get out of my life! But seriously, this has to be in your Halloween movie collection.
Nightmare Before Christmas
When I was younger this movie scared me. Oogie Boogie still terrifies me. But I have grown to absolutely love this movie! The songs are wonderful and now that I’m older, I really appreciate how much work went into creating this film!
Tower of Terror
Oh man. Young Kirsten Dunst+Steve Guttenberg= 90’s Wonderful World of Disney cheesy goodness. I actually really love this movie. And if you are familiar with the ride it’s super fun to watch and see some of the similarities! I definitely suggest watching it while the kiddies sort through their new stash of Halloween candy!
Monster’s Inc.
If your kid was anything like me when I was little, you probably have to stay up all night explaining to them that zombies and ghouls aren’t real and that there are no monsters in their closet…or are there? Why not show them the fun side of these “scary” monsters by watching the Pixar classic, “Monster’s Inc”? There are way more laughs than screams and it’s a really great movie for the whole family! It doesn’t have to be October 31st to watch this movie either. It’s fun to watch all year round!
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
This classic Disney movie is the perfect film to watch on Halloween! It tells the story of Ichabod Crane and his unfortunate run-in with a well known horseman who is missing…well…his head. This was another movie that scared me, and when I heard that the Headless Horseman sometimes makes an appearance at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, I got the heebie jeebies! But it definitely is a Halloween classic that cannot be missed!

About Arielle Boardman: Arielle was invited to like a ton of super cool Halloween parties this year, so she will be out partying in her super awesome and fancy costume until the wee hours of the morning with all the super cool people. Just kidding. She’ll be passing out candy, watching Disney movies in her yoga pants and going to bed at 930…
