Happy Wednesday Main Streeters! It’s time for our weekly check in! As always, I appreciate you keeping up with us, your support and comments are a high point to my week. So, last week I was a little out of sorts and blue. I had a lot on my mind and with the cruddy weather, there wasn’t much fun to write about. Well, a lot can change in a week, and I’m happy to say, I’m baaaaack! My mood has lifted and I managed to get in some Disney time, which I’m sure helped. So, lets see what’s been going on!
Last Friday night, we went out for Chinese food and to the new Five Below store that’s not too far from the house. Have you been to Five Below? Oh. My. Gosh. It was one of my favorite stores up in Michigan, and until recently, we didn’t have them here in Florida. That’s all changing. I talked to the manager, and she said once all is said and done, there will be 200 stores in Florida. Yay for that! They have a lot of Disney merchandise, and nothing is over 5 dollars. We stocked up on some fun Jack Skellington items for Halloween, and they also had a huge Force Awakens section that the Star Wars fans in my house loved. Afterwards we went to Party City and looked at Halloween costumes. That was the first outing I had in over a week, and I’m telling you, it was much needed. It’s the little things, you know?
Saturday, we got our work done early, and decided to meet our friends The Smoot’s at the Magic Kingdom. I was hotter than heck outside, but at least it wasn’t raining! The park was packed. I mean, peak season type of packed. The lines were super long, but we made the most of it. Yes, it was hot, and the kids were all tired and hungry, so we didn’t stay too late, we went off property to eat dinner. As we were leaving, the kids stopped to hula hoop with some Cast Members and a Main Streeter, Lauren, stopped me to say hello. I love, love, LOVE meeting our readers unexpectedly in the parks, it’s an amazing and humbling feeling. When we were walking away, our friend and magazine writer Greg was teasing that I got spotted again by another group. I swear I thought he was joking, but he wasn’t. I wished they would have said hello instead of asking him if that was me. Meeting people who support us is an absolute BLESSING, I can’t even begin to tell you what that means to me. Those are things that I will never take for granted, and I never mind stopping. Being able to thank people in person and tell them how much they mean to our staff is the best feeling. That being said, I will get to do that SOON! Our Big TMSM Meet Up is on October 17th, and our readers will get to hang with me and some of our staff like Scott, Corey, Autumn, Greg, Cindy and Janet. We all can’t wait to see you at the Magic Kingdom that day! I can’t wait to have our fantastic staffers together again, last year was a blast!
We also had a day out at Universal Studios this past week. Everyone wanted to see what Universal puts out for Halloween and such, since last year we only went to CityWalk, and not in the actual parks. Well….. yeah…. it’s not Disney type of stuff, that’s for sure. I know Halloween Horror Nights are scary, and seeing the merchandise and some of the decorations just confirmed that. My older son was curious, but the little one, not so much. Their creepy clown of ceremonies, Jack, is frightening, and his face is all over the place. Part of me would love to go to Horror nights, and I like watching spooky movies and such on tv. However…. the chicken side of me would probably be crying in the fetal position in a corner somewhere if I went. I love The Walking Dead….. but on television. The thought of zombies chasing me doesn’t make me happy. So, I’m thinking it’s a no this year!
On Monday, Scott and I went to the MK all by ourselves while the kids were in school. We needed to get some pics for next month’s issues of The Main Street Monthly. I’m excited about the next one, because we’re focusing on Halloween! I love this time of year, and I know that our readers will love what we’re putting together! So that’s it for this weeks adventures. Writing these blogs each week is a good release for me, it’s like talking to friends, which I don’t get to do too much. I miss home, but this helps, I love our chats! With that….. I’m again sending you off with lots of hugs, love, blessings and pixie dust! Until next week… See Ya Real Soon! ~M
