Walt Disney as we all know is the man behind Mickey Mouse, Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and so much more. For the next two nights (9/14 & 9/15) PBS will air it’s new 4-hour long American Experience special about the life of Walt Disney. This new special will air from 9-11pm ET and feature rare footage from the Disney archives, films from films, and interviews with not only biographers and historians, but also key animators, Imagineers and artists that worked with Walt to create Disneyland and many Disney classics.

Part 1 of the series will air Monday and will cover from Walt’s childhood to the Great Walt Disney Cartoonists Strike of 1941.Part 2 will cover Snow White, Disney and television, and the building of Disneyland. Realizing that many Disney fans are also fans of the Muppets, prior to the airing of Part 2, PBS will air In Their Own Words: Jim Henson allowing Disney fans to “Follow Jim Henson’s career from his early television work to Sesame Street and The Muppet Show.” Check local listings for more information on how to find PBS in your viewing area.
