Happy Wednesday Main Streeters! I hope this evening finds you to be well and ready for our weekly Florida living check in! We’re all good here, settling into our new back to school schedules. There doesn’t seem to be enough coffee…. or hours in the day, but we’re working it all out. As most of you know, we’ve had some rainy weather here. We had a hurricane warning for last weekend, but thankfully, it never hit. We’ve had a lot of storms though…. it just rained, and rained, and rained….. you get the idea.
Being that it’s been really wet here, we haven’t done much Disney time. Last Friday, we attempted to go to Hollywood Studios to get in a few hours of fun after a long week at school and such. The weather app on the phone looked decent when we left, so I was hopeful, plus, I really wanted to see those gorgeous Frozen fireworks. We got to the park and it was dead. I mean, even Toy Story Mania didn’t have a horrendously long wait time, which is odd for a Friday night. So we thought this was going to be fun, because the hurricane warnings pretty much scared people off this weekend, as all the parks were pretty bare. We hit Pizza Planet, did the Muppets 3D, then it started to rain. I checked the weather app again and low and behold, the forecast was different than what if was previously, and it was 100% chance of rain the rest of the night. I hate it when that happens! We tried to stick it out a bit longer, as I heard Cast Members saying they hadn’t cancelled the fireworks yet, so we walked through some stores and got a Starbucks. Big mistake. Yes, it rains in Florida, but my gosh, not usually THAT bad. It was pouring rain, people were scattering everywhere, the streets were flooding, and the lightning looked like a Disney production it was so loud and bright. Just crazy. We got stuck, there was nowhere to go. Finally we had no choice but to make a run for it, and of COURSE we had a horrible parking spot. By the time we got to the car, we all looked like we had just gone swimming in our clothes! Lesson learned!
Our rainy evening at the Studios wasn’t a total loss. We did get to go on a few rides, including Star Tours, where my little Buggy, Aidan, finally got to be the Rebel Spy! He’s waited and waited and waited…… It’s funny how the littlest things make kids happy, isn’t it? You would have thought he won a cash prize or something, it was cute. As always, rain or shine, we try to make the best of our circumstances at the Parks. We’re lucky to live so close to WDW, so that if we have a bad time, we can always come back. Speaking of going back to Disney… I’m just waiting. I am eagerly awaiting to see all the Halloween decorations at the Magic Kingdom. I hear they are up, and I can’t wait to go and get pictures. Maybe while the kids are at school, then go back with them another time, just to get TMSM pics! Now that the sting of back to school is over, I can relax a little and look forward to the Halloween season and such. Plus, our big TMSM Meet up is October 17th at the Magic Kingdom, so there’s that to plan for too. I’m one of those people who always needs a plan… something to focus on, and it seems like I have a full schedule! Well, that’s it for this week’s update! As always, I appreciate you following along with us on our adventures down here! Till next week, sending you lots of blessings, pixie dust and hugs! See ya real soon~ ~M

I don’t mean to sound picky, but your weather terminology is incorrect. No part of Florida was ever under a hurricane warning. There are big differences is timing and strength between tropical storms/hurricanes, and watches/warnings. Knowing the difference will help you be better prepared for whichever situation may arise. The National Hurricane Center should now become your friend. Part of the fun of living in Florida. 😀
