Happy Wednesday everyone! It’s time for our weekly check in to see what’s going on here in Central Florida. Well, it’s been raining. A lot. Today is the first day I’ve seen the sun for longer than a few minutes at a time, and it’s been a nice sight. However, being that all the rain has gotten me down with a Summer cold, I’m not out there enjoying it. We’ve been so busy with site work and getting out our August issue of The Main Street Monthly, we haven’t had time for much, between that and the rain. However…. I did finally give in, and made some Disney plans. Friday, we went to the Studios, trying to get some Frozen Fireworks pics, and it was raining, so we didn’t stay long. We made the best of it though, because after all, it’s still Disney! That’s always great, but I was still longing for my favorite part, the Magic Kingdom!
I had been waiting for some down time, being that we hadn’t been to the Magic Kingdom since June, but every time we had a break, it was raining. We decided to go to the Magic Kingdom anyhow, because like they say, a rainy day at Disney is better than a sunny day anywhere else. It’s funny, because I have become so used to being close to the parks, and going quite a bit, that I was really missing Disney, particularly the Magic Kingdom. My heart was longing to see the Castle, go on the Haunted Mansion, and just have some family time. When we were heading over, I got excited, just like how it used to be when we’d go on vacation. Disney is good for that, making us feel giddy like little kids again…. and seeing the Castle was just what I needed, even in the rain.
We didn’t make a full day of it at the Magic Kingdom, but we sure made the most of our time that evening. The kids missed it too, so they were ready to go and do as much as we could. We had FP’s for Space Mountain, the Haunted Mansion, and Big Thunder Mountain stacked through the evening, with time in between to see other things, look through the stores, and grab something to eat. Truthfully, the rain didn’t even bother me much. We still had a wonderful time, and I’m really glad we ventured out. That’s how it goes down here sometimes, when the weather doesn’t cooperate, you just do what you want to do anyway. On a side note, the Magic Kingdom in the evening when it’s raining is beautiful for taking pictures. You can get some really great shots of different attractions, with reflections of light of the wet ground! I’m so glad we went. Also, I want the kids to appreciate being able to visit Disney so much more often than we used to, and taking breaks I think keeps that alive. We are blessed to live so close to our Happy Place, and it’s something that I never want to take for granted, that’s important.
It’s funny, because when you’re a Disney local as opposed to a vacationer, you really notice the different products and changes that come to the various shops in the Parks and such. I spent a lot of time browsing on Saturday, taking pics of new merchandise for next month’s magazine, it’s a lot of fun. The hand sanitizers came out too, which are super cute, I think I want all of them! You can always follow us on Instagram too for pics of new merchandise, I try to keep that updated!
It’s clouding up again as I type this, so I assume the rain is on it’s way back. I keep reminding myself that it’s just par for the course here in Florida, and at least we don’t get snow here throughout the year, so it’s a trade off. Oh, another thing we get here and not so much in Michigan…… snakes! Yikes. We found our first little black snake in the yard yesterday, and he came back again today. You can SO tell we’re not from around here by the way we react to creepy crawlies, it’s quite comical. We were out there with the lawnmower and a pool net…. I’m not even kidding. But….. the little guy seemed harmless, so we let him live another day, I just don’t want him by the house! We’re on snake alert here now, so he better watch out…. that’s the culprit climbing the bush in the pic below!
Well, after all that excitement, that’s if for this week’s update! I can’t thank you all enough for the fun feedback you give me on these articles, and I’m so glad you read my ramblings! Till next week, wishing you blessings, hugs and pixie dust! See Ya Real soon! ~M
