From the Disney Style blog
Every time we step through the gates of Disneyland, we always think about what it would be like to be at the park in 1955. Mainly because we would love to be there for such a historic day, but we also just love the idea of putting on our finest ’50s clothing and going to The Happiest Place on Earth.
For Disneyland’s 60th Anniversary this past Friday, guests were able to do just that, as many folks showed off their 1955 #DisneySide in honor of Disneyland’s opening day. We hit the streets (well, Main Street, U.S.A. that is) and looked for some of the best vintage outfits we could find. There were so many amazing ensembles, it almost did feel like were at Disneyland in 1955!
The little straw hat, the white gloves, the perfectly graceful dress … it’s hard for us to pick a favorite part of this adorable outfit.
We spotted this Rapunzel and Flynn DisneyBound over by Big Thunder Mountain Railroad!
How awesome are these Alice-inspired and orange grove-esque outfits?
Plus, check out her homemade Mickey Mouse balloon purse. We need one of those ASAP.
This family is all of our life goals. The dad made each outfit himself and they found the vintage carriage online.
This dapper Pinocchio DisneyBound proves that menswear is alive and well in the Happiest Place on Earth.
Nothing says 1955 like a cool pair of vintage sunglasses and classic Mickey Mouse ears.
Mickey bow tie + amazing handmade skirt = an amazing Disney couple outfit.
P.S. She made the skirt herself and IT LIGHTS UP. We can’t emphasize the coolness of this enough.
We think Minnie Mouse would approve of this polka dot and red bow outfit.
Not only did she make this lovely Mickey Mouse skirt herself, she also attached Mickey ears to her wide brimmed hat. Genius? We think so.
