Happy Wednesday Main Streeters! It’s time for our weekly Florida Living check in! As you know, last Wednesday marked our 1 year anniversary since we made the move down here to Florida from Michigan. Wow, what a year it’s been! So what did we do on our first anniversary? We zip lined over some Gators! Yes, I’m serious!

We were invited to come and check out the historic attraction, Gatorland, in Orlando. We had previously met the owner, Mark, at Fun Spot and the new Gator Spot area there, and he told us to bring the boys out to his park. We finally made time to do so, and I’m so glad that we did. Gatorland was awesome, plain and simple. I wasn’t sure how I’d like it, being that I’m more into girly things and am usually scared of gators and such, but I threw myself into the entire experience to give it a fair shot. We were greeted up front and taken to the Zip Line are to get ready. A zip line? Me? Oh sure, why not? I was scared, I can’t lie. The zip line tour takes over an hour to do, and at times you zip line over pits of gators. You get harnessed to the line, and have to trust and believe that it’s safe and you’ll make it to the other side, and that’s hard to do. The first time I had to let go, I was shaking and scared, but, the staff at Gatorland was amazing and reassuring, we had such a great time. Thanks to Megan and Cedric at Gatorland for being such great guides! We went on a train ride, nature walk, saw gator wrestling, and actually FED a bunch of gators on the side of a swamp. My gosh, talk about leaving your comfort zone! If I can do these things, anyone can! Be adventurous, try it, you’ll like it!

On the Disney front, we headed to the Frozen Summer Fun events that kicked off last week at Hollywood Studios. Last year was a blast, so I was looking forward to this starting up again. They have a new Olaf stage show this year, a new photo spot, and of course you can still get Frozen drinks and cupcakes. DJ Chill is back again, up on the stage for a couple of hours before the fireworks begin. My kids really love listening to the music and seeing the characters dancing around the crowd. The part I was most looking forward to was the Frozen Fireworks. The stage show was a little different this year, but the fireworks were just as amazing if not better than last summer. We were lucky enough to get to experience both the Star Wars fireworks as well as Frozen, and I have to say, the Frozen ones are so much better. Granted, the Symphony in the Stars display is fantastic, the Frozen fireworks just have that WOW factor, they’re beautifully choreographed to the music, and they make my eyes well up. You know Disney is doing something right if they can make you cry like that! We’re going back again to see them tonight, meeting up with other Main Streeters for some Frozen Fun, and I truly can’t wait.

We did some things on the Universal front too last weekend. We saw the movie Jurassic World (at Downtown Disney of course) and went to Universal Orlando for Father’s Day. Jurassic World was crazy good by the way, I highly recommend seeing it if you haven’t already. My younger son hid under my arm for the majority of the movie, and we were all on the edge of our seats! It was great! So, that’s it for this weeks blog. I’d like to take a minute to say THANK YOU to all of you who sent in messages and comments last week when we were celebrating our first anniversary. It’s been a scary but exciting year for our family, and we thank all of you for the amazing support you’ve given us. Our Main Streeters are a blessing to us, and we appreciate each and every one of you! Thanks as always for reading and keeping up with our weekly adventures! Till next week…. sending you love, hugs, blessings and pixie dust… See ya real soon! ~M
