Happy Wednesday everyone! It’s time for our weekly Florida Living update! I hope all you Mom’s out there had a nice Mother’s Day weekend. I sure did. We spent Mother’s Day at the Magic Kingdom, which was a first for me!
Last year on Mother’s Day, we went to church and lunch with my Mom and Dad. Each year we do family things. This year of course, had to be different, being that we are so far from home. I think my husband and kids wanted to distract me, like they have done on other holidays since we moved, so that I don’t get homesick and feel sad for the day. I appreciate that. It’s not always easy down here, but for the most part, we’re happy. I missed my Mom on Sunday though. I felt better once I spoke to her on the phone, then we headed out for the day.
We parked at the Grand Floridian, because we had reservations for later in the day at 1900 Park Fare. Boy oh boy, it was HOT outside on Sunday. The temperature hit the upper 90’s, and we could really feel it. We met up with Autumn and her husband, and also ran into my friend Holly and her daughter that afternoon too. Holly was in town for the week, and the day before all of us went to Epcot. Her daughter is the same age as my Andrew, and she took a liking to my little guy Aidan, so that was really good for them. Anyhow, we watched the parade, and before I knew it, it was time to head over to the resort for dinner.
For my birthday this year, we had breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, and it was great. We were hoping dinner would prove to be the same, and it was. The characters were amazing, and the food was good too. I don’t want to give up too much about our experience, as I’m saving that for tomorrow night’s blog. However, we all had a great time, especially the kids!
After our fantastic dinner, we met back up with Autumn and went to her room at Bay Lake Tower to watch fireworks. The view up there is amazing. I think I stood on the balcony for longer than I realized, because I couldn’t get enough of the sights from up there. All in all it was a great day.
So far this week, we’ve been busy covering news for Off TMSM. We went to the grand opening of Gator Spot on Monday, and are heading back there tonight for another event at Fun Spot America. It’s been busy, but busy is good!! Thank you all so much for reading and following along, I truly appreciate it. I’ll fill you in on more next week! Till then, sending you lots of love, pixie dust and blessings! See ya real soon! ~M
