This week our friends at Hallmark announced some amazing limited edition items they will be selling exclusively at Star WarsCelebration, Comic-Con and the D23 Expo and they asked TMSM to share this news with you! As many of you may remember, in October we introduced you to itty bittys. In that article I mentioned that Hallmark had released special Expo items that included a customized Keepsake Ornament and a Sorcerer Mickey itty bitty, both of which ended up coming home with me. This year Hallmark is continuing their special Keepsake Ornament and itty bitty collections concept with special edition items that will only be sold at FOUR conventions.
This weekend at Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, Hallmark will be selling a two-pack of Keepsake Ornaments called “An Epic Vision” which features Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader in a lightsaber duel. “An Epic Vision” is by the artist Ralph McQuarrie and was inspired by concept art for Star WarsEpisode IV: A New Hope. Also available at Celebration will be a limited edition Bounty Hunter two-pack of itty bittys featuring Bossk and Denga. These bounty hunters were featured in Star WarsEpisode V: The Empire Strikes Back. Only 2,000 sets of “An Epic Vision” were made, and sales will be limited to 500 per day. 2,200 sets of the Bounty Hunter itty bittys were made and sales will be limited to 550 per day.
Guests attending Comic-Con International July 9-12 in San Diego, CA and New York Comic Con Oct. 8-11 in New York City will have the chance to purchase a two-pack Droid Keepsake Ornament collection inspired by Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope that features U-3PO and R5-D4. Also available at both Comic Cons will be a two-pack of itty bittys that make me want to travel to New York City this fall. The Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back itty bitty two-pack will feature Boba Fett and Hans Solo in Carbonite!
For those attending the D23 Expo August 14-16 at the Anaheim Convention Center you will have your own special line up of Hallmark items. I won’t lie I am beyond excited over this year’s special D23 Hallmark items. Many that collect Hallmark Keepsake ornaments may remember the 2013 “The Band Concert” ornament that featured “Conductor” Mickey and played the William Tell Overture and “Turkey in the Straw” while a film strip light up and “spun” around the base of the ornament. At this year’s D23 Expo Hallmark will honor of The Band Concert’s 80th anniversary by releasing a D23 Expo exclusive black-and-white version of “The Band Concert.” Also celebrating an anniversary this year is Disney’s animated classic Cinderella. In honor of Cinderella’s 65th anniversary, Hallmark will be selling a limited edition Cinderella two-pack of itty bittys at the Expo. This adorable collection will feature Cinderella and her Prince in their wedding attire.
Hallmark has yet to release pricing or production run numbers for the Comic-Con or D23 Expo items, but we will update you when we know more! Also keep an eye on TMSM for news on new itty bittys coming soon to a Hallmark near you in the near future!
