Happy Wednesday Main Streeters! It’s time for our weekly Florida living check in! Can you believe that Christmas is NEXT WEEK already? I sure can’t! This coming weekend will be 6 months since our big move. It has flown by, and now it’s almost Christmas time. Pretty soon the new year will be here and we’ll be looking forward to what 2015 has to offer, but for now, lets catch up, shall we?
Last week, we went to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party for the first time. We had never been to Disney for vacation during Christmas, so this was new for us. The Christmas party was really a fun time. The kids enjoyed the parade, the fireworks were outstanding, and we got to meet some characters that we normally don’t get to see like Jack Skellington as Sandy Claws, Captain Jack Sparrow, and we got to dance with the Country Bears. Being that it wasn’t too crowded, we got a good view of the parade (the Toy Soldiers were our favorite) and the fireworks, where we got to watch standing right next to the Partners statue. Meeting Jack and Jack were fun, but the kids truly enjoyed the dance party with the Country Bears. The characters were really interactive, and even got my boys to dance, which NEVER happens! I included the videos below so you can see how our night went. Overall, the Christmas Party was amazing. We had a great time, ate a ton of free sugar cookies and drank hot chocolate, and were exhausted the next day. Good times!
My boys got sick the day after the Christmas party, so we laid low all weekend. Being out in the chilly air must have been rough for them, it got into the 40’s that night and they’re not used to that anymore. Yes, we’re from the frozen tundra called Michigan, but we’re getting used to warmer Florida weather and getting a bit wimpy I think! They’re doing better now, thank God, fevers are gone! It worked out good too because on Monday we had a dessert party at Epcot with one of our sponsors, Carl at WDW Magazine, celebrating their first year of the magazine. I have to say, Carl and his crew are wonderful people, and we’re thankful that we get to be part of their team. It was chilly that night, but it was so nice to visit and celebrate their accomplishments with them. Surrounding yourself with the right people in the Disney community is so important, and we thank WDW Magazine for their support and hospitality!
Well, this time next week, Christmas Eve will be upon us. This year has been a hard one for me and my family, lots of changes and things to get used to, but I’m so thankful for our Main Streeters and the care you’ve shown us. I hope you’re all getting ready for Christmas the best you can as well, and have a great week ahead. Thank you so much for following along with us on our journey! Until next week….. See Ya Real Soon! ~M
