“Doc McStuffins: School Of Medicine” Debuting On Disney Jr. And Special Disney Store Event

slide-DJ_DMSSM_WebShowHero_1920x778-1000x405-Q100_1410308329705On 9/9/14 Disney released a new  “Doc McStuffins: School of Medicine” DVD that included an “Doc” dress-up playset and on 9/12 WATCH Disney Junior  released 30 new online games focusing on different doctor specialties. These games let kids play and earn a   “Doc McStuffins: School of Medicine” certificate.  These new games tie in with the new upcoming “Doc McStuffins: School of Medicine”  programming event airing 9/22-9/26/14, will have segments with real health professionals. In the episodesDoc McStuffin will teach children about staying happy and healthy. “Share the fun as Doc teaches the toys how to patch themselves up when they’re down, and shows them how visiting the dentist, seeing an optometrist and even getting an X-ray can work wonders! Banish the blurries as you help Professor Hootsburgh choose the perfect pair of glasses, get soccer star Johnny Foosball back in the game, and fix a friendly bath-time shark’s cracked tooth. The, when Doc sprains her ankle, join the toys as they rush to her rescue.”

The special segments guests  will discuss their job in dentistry, emergency response and medicine. The segments will each tie into that morning’s Doc episode story line. Two of the segment guests  are members of the  Showcased in the segments will be  two members of the Artemis Medical Society which describes itself as “a group of women physicians of color joining together in common purpose to create and promote an environment in medicine where we can come together to support and learn from each other across all medical specialties. While our personal experiences as physicians may be different, we share a common bond in our uniqueness within the medical community. We believe that by coming together we can change the face of medicine.” The Artmeis Medical Society was actually started by a group of medical professionals who connected over “Doc”.  Artemis segments guests will include  Dr. Letitia Bradford, an orthopedic surgeon in California’s Salinas Valley; and Dr. Angela U. Tucker, a family medicine practitioner in Columbus, Ohio.  The segments will also feature dentist Dr. David Kang and nurse practitioner Bill Kenny, both of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles; and Christian Sequeira, a Los Angeles-based Emergency Medical Technician.

10626563_10152704550779530_1586111149193895641_nAs a bonus tie in to this exciting event the Disney Store announced tonight they will be holding a “Doc McStuffins Event” 9/20 from 10:30am-12:30 pm and 9/21 from 12:30-2:30pm. Guests will get to see a sneak peek of the new episodes AND guests three years old and up can participate in fun activities while supplies last!
