There has been a lot of chatter regarding the Villains Unleashed event last Saturday. Some good, some not so good. One of the most controversial things of the evening was the Freak Show hosted by Oogie Boogie. I had heard it wasn’t what folks would expect out of Disney, so I took at look at my friend Panda’s video. Well, it’s different, we can say that much. No, not typical Disney, that’s for sure. I thought I’d share it with our Main Streeters and let you make a judgement for yourselves. Here’s what Panda used for a description on the video:
During the 8/23/14 Villains Unleashed event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios there was Oogie Boogie’s Freaky Funhouse. This was a real freakshow with sword swallowers and fire eaters. Not recommended for very young children. Slightly edited to showcase best sequences.
After seeing the show, I’d have to agree, it’s not for little ones, so I decided to share it later in the evening. I’d love to hear what you think. Thanks to our friend Big Fat Panda for sharing his footage and reporting back to us to help keep our Main Streeters in the know! Be sure to check out his other videos too!

After watching this video, I have to agree that it is not typical Disney fare. However, I don’t see anything wrong with it. It was during a Special Event that guests had to pay extra for, and there wasn’t anything too over the top in the show. I wouldn’t have a problem bringing my children to see this. I thought it was in keeping with the theme of the event, and the name “Oogie Boogie’s Freaky Funhouse” kinda let you know it wasn’t going to be a sing-along. Thanks to Big Fat Panda for the video. I was entertained 🙂
