As you can imagine, the list of characters that Disney has had to have someone voice over the years, is a very large list. However, there are some that are voiced by the same actor or actress. I saw this blog the other day on the On My Disney blog and I did a little twist on what they put out but wanted to share it with all of you.
Kathryn Beaumont – Wendy and Alice
Kathryn Beaumont not only did the voice for Wendy in Peter Pan and Alice in Alice in Wonderland, she also reprised the role of Alice and Wendy in the video game Kingdom Hearts in 2002. She also did some House of Mouse shows in 2002, 101 Dalmations II: Patch’s London Adventure in 2003 and Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep again but a different character in 2010.
David Ogden Stiers – Cogsworth and Governor Ratcliffe
David Ogden Stiers is probably most known for his role at Major Charles Winchester in the television show M.A.S.H., but has a very extensive career both in front of the camera and doing voices for characters. In addition to Governor Ratcliffe and Cogsworth, he was also in Lilo & Stitch, different Disney video games, and the narrator is some Winnie the Pooh films.
John Ratzenberger – All the Pixar Characters Ever
Ok, well he didn’t play every Pixar character but he was in every Pixar film to date, he was also none other than Cliffy Clavin on the hit tv show Cheers. Oh and did you know, he was in a little movie called The Empire Strikes Back.
Alan Tudyk – King Candy and the Duke of Weselton
Besides being in one of the biggest films of 2013/2014 Frozen, Alan was also a voice in Wreck-It-Ralph, he will be a voice in the upcoming film Big Hero 6, but you may know him the best at Steve the Pirate in the movie Dodgeball.
Phil Harris – Baloo and Thomas O’Malley
In addition to voicing Baloo in The Jungle Book and Thomas O’Malley in the AristoCats, he was Little John in the 1973 animated classic Robin Hood and he was also a part of the Jack Benny radio show for a long time.
Jim Cummings – Winnie the Pooh and Darkwing Duck
Jim Cummings is a very accomplished voice actor and done a lot of work with different Disney projects over his career. From Ducktails, Winnie the Pooh, bullet #2 in Roger Rabbit, Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Rescue Rangers, Talespin, Aladdin, Darkwing Duck, The Lion King, and many many more. Look at his IMDB someday, and you will be shocked how many things and characters he has done.
Lea Salonga – Princess Jasmine and Mulan (Singing)
Lea has continued to play the singing voice of Princess Jasmine in the Aladdin’s releases and also was the singing voice for Mulan. She has gone on to perform both singing duties for these two in other films, tv shows and in video games.
Eleanor Audley – Maleficent and Lady Tremaine
In early Disney animated movies, can you think of two better evil characters than Maleficent and Lady Tremaine? Yes there is the Evil Queen, but the combination of Maleficent and Lady Tremaine is pretty amazing it was done by the same performer. Eleanor was also in such tv shows as Green Acres, The Beverly Hillbillies, and The Dick Van Dyke Show just to name a few.
Idina Menzel – Elsa and Nancy
Besides playing Elsa in one of the biggest animated films in recent years she also was animated for a brief time in another Disney film, Enchanted. She also did a voice on the animated series Hercules, so Adele Dazeem, I mean Idina Menzel has been involved in Disney for sometime.
