It’s that time of the week, for me to let our Main Streeters know what’s new with our adventures of living in Florida! It’s been 3 weeks since we’ve gotten here. Only 3 weeks….. but it feels a lot longer. I’ve packed so much into these past few weeks, and truthfully, I’m really tired. I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve seen my family and friends, since I’ve been home, that’s the hard part. However, this past week has been amazing here in the Disney area, tiring, but awesome nonetheless!
The 4th of July holiday was this past weekend, and I have to say no one does fireworks like Disney does. I had never seen the 360 Fireworks at the Magic Kingdom before, and I’m so glad I was able to finally see them. We viewed the show from both inside the Magic Kingdom AND from the lounge balcony at the Contemporary Resort. Both nights were great. I was worried that I’d find myself to be really homesick on the 4th, but the people we were with really helped. Ron and Lenise from Kingdom Camera Rentals are truly a blessing to my family, they are just the nicest people ever, and we were lucky to spend the holiday with them. Also, I got to spend the evening with my friend Andy (WDW Shutterbug) as well as some others. A good time was had by all!
The next day, the Frozen Summer Fun festivities kicked off at Hollywood Studios. This was bad timing for us, because we were up really late with friends at the MK the night before, so we had to get up earlier than we wanted to to be able to see the Frozen fun at a decent time. It was a LONG day at DHS. But…. as with the night before, the day was made much better with the company we had. I spent the day with John aka Big Fat Panda and met up with some Main Streeters as well. My boys think Panda is the bees knees, they just love him. I can’t thank the friends I have in Florida enough for making us feel so welcomed here. They have treated us like they’ve known us our whole lives, it’s a great feeling.
As much fun as I’m having in Florida, I do miss home. I try not to think about it truthfully, or I get a little blue. Change isn’t easy for me, as you know, but I’m doing my best. The boys are happy, so that in turn makes me happy. I’m dealing fine with the heat, not thrilled about all the rain, but that’s expected, and for the most part things are good. I was just saying though, that it’s only been 3 weeks and in addition to missing my family, I’m missing the FOOD from home! We’ll talk more about that one next week though! As always, thank you for reading. I hope you all had a safe and happy Holiday weekend! Till next time…. See ya real soon!! 😉 M

Michele, you need to stop and smell the roses. I know you are burning the candle at both ends for us, but take care you don’t overdue it especially in this heat. (Although it feels more like fall here ). I know what you mean about the food from home. Sometimes no matter how you try to cook it it just isn’t the same. I say it is part taste, part the company your in and twothirds of it is the love you feel surrounding you as you eat it.
