Yesterday the Frozen themed festivities kicked off at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and we were lucky enough to be there to give our readers the scoop! It was a hot day, even for Frozen fans, but we stayed throughout the day, all the way till the fireworks in the rain at 9:45!
The park is filled with Frozen posters, and to many people’s delight, they are carrying Frozen themed merchandise. I know there’s been a shortage of Frozen products, but not at DHS! They are offering stuffed Olaf’s for $17.95, Frozen Magic Bands for $19.95, and Frozen Summer shirts for $24.95, just to name a few!
In addition to Frozen merchandise, fans can also purchase Frozen themed cupcakes! Each cupcake is a different flavor….. chocolate, buttercream and carrot cake! You can also get a Frozen souvenir cup with either soda or strawberry lemonade in it!
One of the best parts of the day was the Frozen Sing-A-Long that’s in the theater in the back of the park. A lot of guests thought it was going to be at the stage in front of the Sorcerer’s Hat, but it’s actually past the Muppets near the back. They had two wonderful actors playing “historians” that took you through the story of Frozen, including all the songs. It was like a big karaoke party, Frozen style!
While visiting, guests can also build a snowman and ice skate at the Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post & Frozen Funland. There’s merchandise there too. Just a warning though, the stand by line is LONG and you can’t even just go to the store, you have to wait in the line for that as well, so allow plenty of time!
So, the day begins with a Frozen Processional and ends with a Frozen Dance Party and Fireworks show. They also had a band performing before the fireworks, The Icemen of the North, which were pretty decent. The dance party was fun, the band was good, and the fireworks were lovely too.
All in all it’s a good day for Frozen Fans, just allow extra time and patience, the crowds were pretty big, especially when leaving the park. I’d also like to thank my friend John aka Big Fat Panda for spending the day with us and getting video of the festivities. Panda’s video will be coming soon so stay tuned.
