Random Acts of Kindness Thursday ~ It’s the little things….

It’s Thursday and time for our Disney feel-good story for the week. Today’s story comes from a Main Streeter, Tempest, who shared her magical experience over in TMSM Fan Nation on Facebook. Here’s what she had to say about her experience from her first Disney trip last August~

“I am 42 and a daddy’s girl. When I was little, daddy and I would watch Mary Poppins together. It is one of my fondest memories and probably the main reason that Mary Poppins is my favorite Disney movie.

When we went to WDW in August, we truly believed it was our once in a lifetime trip. We don’t have the fancy jobs or make much money so we didn’t think we would ever go back. I did everything I could think of so my kids would have some great memories from the trip. While we were in Epcot, my hubby asked me if there was anything I wanted. For me to not think about the kids or him but something that would make me happy. I told him if it was ok, I wanted to see Mary Poppins. He looked at me kind of weird and said “Then that’s what we do next” and off we went. We waited in line and my hubby could see I was starting to tear up. The kids and I had our turn and went up to Mary. She had seen the tears in my eyes and asked why. I told her about my dad and I watching the movie when I was little. I had never told anyone, not even my hubby, who heard me tell Mary my story. I thanked her for her time and the picture and went to walk away and she wouldn’t let go of my hand. She kept me there for quite a few minutes talking about my dad and the fun times we had. I kept trying to walk away so as not to hold up the line but she wouldn’t let go. After some time she finally gave me a hug and THANKED ME!!! She said it meant so much to HER to be part of such a great memory.

My dad passed away when I was 9. I have never forgotten the man he was to me and I am still daddy’s girl.” ~ Tempest Storm

This story got a huge reaction on our group wall, and I thought it was a good one to share with everyone across our media outlets. Sometimes it’s the little things that matter. Kindness doesn’t have to cost a lot, or cause us to have to go out of our way…. Acts of kindness come in all forms, and we never know whose life we can change or day we could make better by extending ourselves even just a little. I’m so happy Tempest got her magical experience courtesy of Mary Poppins on her vacation. Memories like that last a lifetime! Thank you for sharing your story with us! If you have an act of kindness or magical moment that you’d like to share with TMSM, feel free to email me at [email protected] and tell me about it! Until next week…… share a smile with someone else, you’ll be glad you did!
