On May 27 we announced that a new runDisney Star Wars themed event was going to be held in Disneyland January 15-18, 2015, which registration opening on June 10, 2014 at 12pm EST. We also announced on our Facebook that a limited number of early registration slots would go on sale today to Annual Pass holders and Disney Vacation Club members. That presale was this morning and it SOLD OUT! In under 15 minutes, this may well be one of the fastest presale sell outs yet for a runDisney event.
Disneyland AP was nice enough to confirm this on twitter: UPDATE – As of 12:30pm, AP early registration spots for the Star Wars Rebel Challenge, 10k, 5k, runDisney Kids Races are sold out.
We KNEW this race was going to sell well. I personally have some bets on sell out in an hour for the Half, 10k and Rebel Challenge going on with some friends, and after this mornings AP/DVC pre sale sell out in under 15 minutes or so, I have a feeling I laid my bet right. Now, just because the AP/DVC pre-sale sold out does NOT mean the entire race has sold out. One of the perks of being an Annual Pass holder or DVC member is that you get a chance at early registration to runDisney events, before they open to the public.
What this means is if you want to participate in the Inaugural Star Wars Half Marathon Weekend you are going to want to be quick on the trigger on June 10. For all of those signing up next Tuesday we wish you luck!!!! For those who were successful in signing up Congrats!!!
