We are sad to report that “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” star Bob Hoskins has passed away, his publicist confirmed today. Mr. Hoskins died from pneumonia, he was 71.
A statement issued on behalf of his wife Linda and his children said: “We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Bob. Bob died peacefully at the hospital last night surrounded by family, following a bout of pneumonia.
“We ask that you respect our privacy during this time and thank you for your messages of love and support.”
Bob Hoskins announced his retirement from acting in 2012, saying at the time that he was suffering from Parkinson’s disease, an incurable muscular disorder.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit was just one of many films that Bob Hoskins starred in. He had a long career, one of his most recent movie roles was as one of the eight dwarves in the fairytale “Snow White and the Huntsman,” alongside Chris Hemsworth and Kristen Stewart.
Our hearts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Bob Hoskins. He will be missed.
