This morning, at a special event in Hollywood, California, that was kicked off by Director Nick Fury, Disney Interactive President Jimmy Pitaro joined Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. actor Clark Gregg and Disney Infinity’s John Blackburn and John Vignocchi to unveil Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes.
The new game is the super-powered sequel to last year’s #1 best-selling new hybrid toy/video game according to the NPD Group’s video games retail sales data. To date, Disney Infinity has sold more than 3 million starter packs and reached more than $500 million in gross U.S. retail sales.
Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes will take players deep into the Marvel Universe with classic characters and original story lines – all while offering players more opportunity for unprecedented freedom and endless possibilities to create new adventures.
The new game features more than 20 new interactive figures from across the Marvel universe, original storylines penned by award-winning Marvel comic writer Brian Michael Bendis and an all-new Toy Box mode that makes it easier for players to create and share their one-of-a-kind levels and mini-games with family and friends. In addition, all characters and power discs from last year’s release of Disney Infinity will be compatible with the Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes Toy Box.
We’ll have more to share with you before Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes launches this fall, including additional Play Sets and characters from other popular Marvel and Disney franchises. In the meantime, check out the epic announce trailer below:
