The Disney Parks Blog shared some photos that I wanted to pass along and share with our readers. Here are some really great, rare color photos of Walt Disney as he revealed some of his plans for “it’s a small world” at the 1964-65 New York World’s Fair.
The above image was taken while Walt filmed the “Wonderful World of Color” episode, entitled, “Disneyland Goes to the World’s Fair.” Here Walt showed the model for the attraction that as it appeared in New York. Look at all the fun things going on behind Walt. How many things do you see that look familiar?
The above photo here was taken outside one of the soundstages at The Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, presumably during production of another television segment for “it’s a small world.”
This last photo shows not only Walt but also Disney Legends Marc Davis (one of Walt’s Nine Old Men) and Mary Blair. Walt is looking at one of the figures that you may have noticed inside the attraction at Disneyland park.
