5 Ways Muppets Most Wanted Is a Hit with the Kids AND the Parents

I saw this article on the Disney Babble page and wanted to share it with all.  The article was written by Sunny Chanel.  If you were wondering if you were going to go to the movies to see Muppets Most Wanted and you were on the fence, maybe this article will help sway you.

Muppets Most Wanted

I love, love, love, love, love the Muppets. Yes, that is five times the love and it is a love that has lasted through the decades. When I was a kid, Miss Piggy, Kermit and the rest of their zany cast of co-stars so delighted me. And now, decades later, they are delighting my own child. Yes, those Muppets certainly have some staying power! When Kermit was recently asked how they have stayed so timeless he answered that, “None of us have watches.” But it’s beyond that, one reason they have stayed so “timeless,” is that they appeal to both kids and adults dissolving any sort of “age appropriate” label you might try to put on them.

The Muppets are for ANY age. This really does come through in the newest Muppets masterpiece – Muppets Most Wanted. In celebration of their newest adventure, we have put together five ways that Muppets Most Wanted will be a huge hit with kids AND their parents.

1) The Cameos:
The kids may see that bearded guy as Hobo Joe but we all know it’s The Hangover‘s Zach Galifianakis. The Muppets continue throwing in cameos for adults from Usher to Ray Liotta to Tom Hiddleston. Yup, it really is full of star power!

2) The Songs:
The songs weren’t written by just any songwriter, they have been beautifully crafted by Bret McKenzie of theFlight of the Conchords fame.  He accomplishes an amazing feat by writing songs that appeal to both young and old (and are SUPER catchy too). McKenzie creates touching moments and hilarious ones through his tunes. This is a skill he proved in The Muppets, a job that earned him an Oscar for “Man or Muppet.”

3) It’s Silly
I asked my 8-year-old daughter what she liked the most about Muppets Most Wanted and she had a very quick and simple answer: “I love it because it’s so silly!” And I think I would have to say the same thing. And you are NEVER too old for silliness!

4) The Story
While the Muppet Show was a variety show featuring short acts and musical numbers, the crew has become great at weaving narratives that have action, adventure, tension and laughs. Yup, it has it all! Plus international travel, a wedding, a prison and dance routines.

5) IT’S THE MUPPETS!
Seriously, you can’t go wrong with the Muppets. We may have gotten older, but they are still the same Muppets we have always loved and adored.

Are you excited about seeing the Muppets on the big screen yet again?
