On this date in 2012, the Muppets received their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Their star is located at 6834 Hollywood Boulevard, in front of the El Capitan Theatre.
Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo the Great, Animal, Sweetums and newcomer Walter were all in attendance to receive the 2,466th star on the boulevard.
Kermit, whose first TV appearance was in 1955, said: “I want to say on behalf of the Muppets that we are just really happy to be here on Hollywood Boulevard joining some of the greatest names in showbiz.”
The Muppets were joined by Lisa and Brian Henson, the daughter and son of “Muppets” creator Jim Henson.
“As the Muppets once sang, ‘Look at us. Here we are. Right where we belong.’ and yes they do belong thanks to the lovers and dreamers and you the fans,” said Lisa Henson.
Don’t forget this Friday, March 21st, Muppets Most Wanted hits theaters.
