Sunday after the Princess Half Marathon was over Princesses started reporting some interesting goings-on in Downtown Disney. It seems that chalk art had been used to tease of an upcoming runDisney announcement on 2/25/14 at 8:35 am (pst). The drawing depicted a female runner with the number 225 and the message “Something is coming Feb. 25th; Check out Run Disney on Facebook for more info; #SMASHTHEHALF”.
Guesses started circulating around the internet. Were they adding a Star Wars themed run? A Marvel themed run? A full marathon into the Princess Weekend?
Well now we have the answers!!! Though comic book panel themed video runDisney has just announced they are teaming up with the Avengers to host a Marvel Superheros Marathon Half Weekend with a 13.1 mile course through Disneyland the weekend of November 14-16 2014. runDisney will also host kids runs, a family fun run 5k and a half marathon. Avenger characters and entertainment will line the course! Registration opens 3/25/14.
