SHIELD

Now that we are 10 episodes into the season of Marvels Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., what do you think of the show?  What characters do you like and dislike?  What back story are you waiting to hear more about?  What do you hope to see happen with the remaining episodes of the season?

My opinion, I like the show.  I have to admit after the first episode I was excited about the upcoming season.  The second episode had a big surprise, Nick Fury at the end.  That was great.  I have to say I’m a big fan of Samuel L. Jackson and his presence as Nick Fury in the films is always an added bonus.  I hope we get to see him more on future episodes, and I can’t wait for the full Nick Fury film.

On to the cast, Agent Coulson is wonderful, I really like the character a lot and Clark Gregg plays that role perfectly.  I still want to know more about what happened to him after his demise at the hands of Loki from the Avengers film, and when he went to Tahiti.  Seems like with each episode we get a little more of his back story and I’m hoping eventually it all comes together.  Of course there are tons of rumors online of what happened, but I’m not putting stock in any.

As far as the rest of the characters, Fitz and Simmons are good and they work well off of one another.  Some of the technology they use is amazing and makes me wish it was real.  Melinda May, the weapons and pilot really is a special agent.  I always wondered why they called her “The Calvary” and now that we know that story makes her character more interesting.  Ward, I really didn’t care for at first.  I thought he was arrogant and only cared about making himself look good.  He didn’t seem like he was a team player.  He knows he’s a good agent and everyone else should know that.  Now as we have seen more of his character develop, I’ve started to get the impression that he really cares a lot about the team and will do anything to protect them and make them better, he’s developing into a team player for sure.

Now on to Skye.  The first episode I thought she was just going to be a conspiracy theorist and how the government hides things and how she uncovers them.  We would see her here and there but I never expected her to be a part of the team.  When she was on the “bus” and with the team, I still didn’t like her character.  Seeing her ties still going back to the rising tide always made me dislike her, she had her own agenda.  Now, it seems like she is on board with the team, but I just wonder if a plot twist will pull her back to her old ways.  I guess time will tell.

Overall I’m happy with the show so far, it’s lived up to my expectations.  I will keep tuning in and see what they have to offer us.  The one thing to remember is, we never know what could happen or who could show up on a episode.  With Captain America’s new film coming to theaters next year I’m sure somehow the show will be involved in that storyline, especially since we know Agent Coulson is a huge Captain fan.  I wonder if there could ever be a crossover of this team showing up in one of the movies.  I really liked how the show and team helped with the clean up after Thor: The Dark World.  It’s nice to see them pull it all together and keep the Marvel Cinematic Universe all related, even with the small screen show.  I guess having the same guy in charge of it all helps in that matter.
