Today is Friday the 13th, and for the superstitious, a day you want over before it begins. Here is a list of Disney 13’s that really aren’t unlucky.
1. Most Disney people know this, but in case you don’t, the Haunted Mansion’s grandfather clock only has one number on it. You
2. Walt and Lillian’s wedding anniversary is on the 13th of July.
3. In Liberty Square, in the Magic Kingdom, there are 13 lanterns hanging from the Liberty Tree. Each lantern represents one of the original U.S. colonies.
4. Millard Fillmore, the 13th President of the United States is featured in The Hall of Presidents attraction.
5. Former NFL quarterback Kurt Warner wore #13 when he won the Super Bowl with the St. Louis Rams. Kurt was awarded the games MVP and declared “I’m going to Disneyland!” and “I’m going to Disney World!”.
6. Alice in Wonderland was the 13th full length animated feature for Disney. The movie is a classic and has inspired attractions, character dinings, and more in the parks.
7. One of the more known 13’s in the parks is on the Hollywood Tower of Terror, you may just plummet 13 stories in the haunted service elevator.
8. While its not exactly 13, many of the RunDisney events are measured at 13.1 mile half marathon events.
9. Disney Legend, Imagineer, and one of Walt’s Nine Old Men Marc Davis was born in 1913. Some of the most beloved attractions in the Disney Parks from Marc include: The Enchanted Tiki Room, “it’s a small world”, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Haunted Mansion and the Jungle Cruise.
10. Brave was the 13th Disney/Pixar full length animated film.
11. Do you know the numeric street address for Disneyland? Its 1313.
12. The Muppet Vision 3-D wild trip through the Muppet lab is 13 minutes long.
13. Donald Duck’s lucky day is the 13th. In the 1939 animated cartoon “Donald’s Lucky Day” is set on Friday the 13th. The cartoon features Donald as a bike messenger who has a streak of bad luck which includes a broken mirror, a black cat, the number 13. He also is trying to deliver a package to the address 1313 13th Street. The cartoon was released on January 13, 1939, which was a Friday.
