In case you missed the news, Disney announced that “Alice in Wonderland 2” is set for release on May 27, 2016. In 2010, the first part made $1.025 billion in worldwide box office sales. Tim Burton however will not be directing the film, taking over the reins is James Bobin from “The Muppets”. Mia Wasikowska will be back to play Alice and for all the Johnny Depp fans, he will be back to reprise his role of the Mad Hatter. This could be 2 big films coming out for Johnny that summer, as Pirates 5 is aiming for 2016 also.
In other Disney film news, the live-action version of “Jungle Book” is set for release on October 9, 2015. Jon Favreau is set to direct the film. Disney previously turned The Jungle Book into the classic 1967 animated film and a 1994 live-action feature helmed by Stephen Sommers.
