Spread the Magic, The Cultural Representative Program by Courtney Spencer

The saying goes “There’s no place like home”. Well there really isn’t a place like Disney World.  The shiver down your spine, the hairs sticking up on your arms, the smile from ear to ear, where else must you be but the gates to the entrance of Disney World!  There truly is no feeling like it when you push your park ticket through the machine and get to step into the World of dreams.

From characters waving hello to you, the rush of adrenaline through your body as you’re whizzing around on a roller coaster, or the full feeling after you have indulged in Disney’s delightful fine cuisine. There’s nothing quite like the thought of knowing you get to do it all over again the next day and every day after that for the rest of your vacation. So were talking about 2 or 3 weeks of fantastic thrills, amazing meals and splish-splashing around in the two Disney water parks. How about getting to do that for one whole year?  Well folks, I have the privilege of being able to live the most magical year of my life working for the Mouse himself.

The Cultural Representative Program turns your dreams into reality. The program hires cast members from 11 different countries to work around the World Show Case in Epcot to give guests the most authentic experience possible. Guests are able to interact with the cast members and find out more about their culture and heritage. I begin my journey on March 4th in the UK Pavilion and it cannot come soon enough. Every morning I will wake up knowing that I get to either go into work and be part of the guests Disney experience and make it even more magical, or I can go and visit one of the Disney parks myself on a day off.

So there really is a great big beautiful tomorrow, and tomorrow is just a dream away, or 154 days away in my case!

  1. That’s Awesome and I can only imagine how excited you must be! I have lived in Central Florida most of my life and I still get excited every time I go to the parks. I am a local, past cast member, annual pass holder and Disney enthusiast. I’m at the parks at least one or two times per month. I will make sure to look out for you next year in the UK pavilion and will say hello!!! -Erica-
