Toy Story Of Terror

Toy Story of Terror

Well if you weren’t at D23 and if you haven’t seen the news stories, Disney and Pixar are releasing the short Toy Story of Terror! on October 16, 2013 on ABC at 8:00 p.m. EDT.  This Halloween special is directed by Angus MacLane who has been involved in every theatrical release since A Bug’s Life.

The synopsis is “What starts out as a fun road trip for the Toy Story gang takes an unexpected turn for the worse when the trip detours to a roadside motel. After one of the toys goes missing, the others find themselves caught up in a mysterious sequence of events that must be solved before they all suffer the same fate in this Toy Story of Terror.”

Toy Story of Terror is 22 minutes long.  If you were fortunate enough to be at D23 you hopefully saw the first 10 minutes of this short.  This is the first of what I hope will be many Pixar specials.  We will be sure to give our reviews after seeing in.

In other Toy Story news, I wanted to mention a little about the rumors of a Toy Story 4.  I know that there is no official announcement from Disney or Pixar, but that doesn’t mean its not in the works.  I’ve seen various sites saying that its not true and that they shouldn’t do it.   There is a entry on IMDB for it to come out in 2015 and it lists some of the actors who will be in it which includes the gang from the other films.  In a interview that Tom Hanks did in 2011 for the BBC we get what sparked a lot of the rumors.  The reporter asked Hanks if his granddaughter would be able to see a Toy Story 4.   Hanks response “I think there will be, yeah, he said. I think they’re working on it now.”  Also I saw a interview from Jodi Benson, the voice of Ariel from The Little Mermaid and also Barbie in the Toy Story franchise.  She said  “I have heard from various folks the talk of doing a fourth one. Of course that would be amazing, because I think each one has just been stronger than the first. It’s a really great series.”

This could just be rumors and nothing more, but who knows.  With the series appearing to have wrapped up with the toys being given to a children’s nursery, there are no questions that need to be answered.  But luckily the series could start a whole new adventure and have nothing to do with the previous movies, so maybe we’ll see what holds for the future of Woody and Buzz.  As we hear more about this possible film, we will be sure to report it to you.

  1. You are correct, I apologize. I meant to rewrite that section someway to talk about the toys going to Sunnyside but didn’t want to give away that they were eventually given to Bonnie in case someone hadn’t seen the movie. In the previews of the movie it was pointed out the toys arrived at Sunnyside Daycare.
