Starbucks officially takes over Main Street Bakery tomorrow, June 18th!
It’s finally here! The refurbishment for the Main Street Bakery at the Magic Kingdom is “officially” completed as of tomorrow. To the dismay of many guests, Main Street Bakery will now be a Starbucks Coffee, featuring many new changes both on the menu and scenery. There has been so much debate regarding this switch, some are excited, some not so much. Here are the details from Disney:
- The complete Starbucks Drink Menu is offered each day.
- All drinks are offered under the Disney Dining Plan as a snack credit. Some guests are happy about this part!
- The bakery is staffed by Disney Cast Members and not Starbucks employees. (Another good thing)
- There is no longer any indoor seating at the bakery.
- Starbucks items will exclusively be sold until 11am each day . From 11am onwards both Starbucks and Disney items and snacks will be available. The Disney items are mostly cupcakes, brownies, and other baked goods.
- The cinnamon rolls are not available, but continue to be offered at Gaston’s Tavern in the New Fantasyland.
- Until 11am there are four hot breakfast items available, three are sandwiches and one is a wrap. Cold sandwiches are an option too.
- You can use your Starbucks gift cards and mobile apps for purchases.
- The cups are branded with both Disney and Starbucks Logos, not just one or the other.
- It is not possible to redeem My Starbucks Rewards, but your purchases do earn you My Starbucks Rewards.
Until people start getting used to this idea, and actually get an opportunity to visit the new location, there will more than likely still be mixed feelings. Nostalgia versus Modern Amenities. Which do you prefer?
